His landscape

The landscape of the Val d’Orcia, characterized by a succession of hills, is marked by the medieval route of the Via Cassia (or Francigena): a path that along the route the main centers of San Quirico d’Orcia, Castiglion d’Orcia , Radicofani, and on the diverticolo for the Valdichiana, Pienza and Montalcino.
Among the smaller centers, particularly important are Bagno Vignoni, San Giovanni d’Asso and the small village of Montisi.
